Yes you read it right, this weekend we are going to celebrate HOLI with the children at APSA, just after the Sunday Breakfast serving. Also, please read and volunteer for our 2 very important activities lined up at Aashayein Foundation for the coming days. We look forward for your support in reaching out and making a difference to the kids through these initiatives.
Announcements for this week:
Please note this week there will be no teaching activity at any of the schools this weekend, as the schools are closed on Saturday, 27th Feb, 2010 because of Govt. Holiday.

| Gift your village – A new initiative: Aashayein Foundation adds another feather to its cap with its new program called “Gift Your Village” to address the infrastructural and the basic needs of schools across the rural parts of Karnataka. So what should you do??? You are the best person to assess the schools in your village. If you think the school deserves more than what they already have, or if you think you cannot help the school single-handedly and you want to make a difference to the lives of the young kids, and then reach out to us. This would be the best gift that you could possibly give to your village. Please fill up the attached form and send it across to info@aashayeinfoundation.org or call Somaiah at 9900579228. | |||
| Survey for identifying kids who are not going to school: Today in Bangalore alone, there are about 8000 kids who are either working in some mechanic shop or serving food to you at a hotel or washing dishes at home. And each year many more are sent here from villages in the dream of earning more money in cities. Many of these kids don’t even have an opportunity to know what Education can offer them and neither do their parents know the benefits of the Education. If nothing is done about this, these kids will lose their creativity and continue to live with unfulfilled dreams. The kids will then grow up blaming their circumstances for their condition. At the same time, we have the privilege and opportunity to make a difference to these kids and their family. With speaking to them, supporting them and encouraging them to go to school. We believe it’s possible and starting from Saturday, 6th March, 2010 we are planning to do a survey of the kids who are not going to school in Shivajinagar and Jayanagar area. If you want to grab this opportunity to make a difference to these kids, please come forward and send a mail to info@aashayeinfoundation.org or call Sunil at 9902107107. Let’s get the kids to School and give them their dream! | |||
