The place is four hours journey from Bangalore, many volunteers from Bangalore will be travelling on 29th Morning. We will be arranging common transport for all the Volunteers. Do revert back if you are will to join us on or before Jan 25th 2011.

Shikshana Abhiyana is an attempt to bridge the gap in the quality of education between Government/Government aided schools and Private schools by training  students in English Grammar & Communication Skills and  teachers in Computer Skills.

Aashayein Foundation marks the 1st Anniversary Operations of Mysore Chapter 

 

Objective

A platform for the underprivileged kids to interact and mingle with those from mainstream schools

To provide a platform for the NGO's to showcase their efforts and Initiative

 

 

Activities:

- Painting Competition for kids in the age group 10-13 years from social service institutions and mainstream schools.

- Exhibition is to showcase work done for unprivileged by various organizations in Mysore

 REPORT:  GIFT YOUR VILLAGE | Saturday 8th January 2011

 

We are happy to inform you all that the 'Gift your Village' program under Pustaka Abhiyana Project was successfully executed in Yeldur village, Kolar on Jan 8th 2011 at "Sarkari Prathamika Shaale and Sarkari Prouda Shaale", a  school  adopted by  Aashayein Foundation under the "Karnataka School Nurturing Programme".

 

As a part of this activity, notebooks were distributed to the kids along with water purifiers, chairs, plastic drums, pencils, erasers and sharpeners.

518 students of this school have benefitted from this programme. These kids will now have access to better study material, hygienic drinking water and sanitation facilities.

 

The kids showcased their talents by performing cultural activities.

 

There were 12 volunteers who contributed to make the event successful. Congratulations to all those volunteers for being a part of this program.  We look forward to have your continuous support.
